2021 CAF Women’s Champions League Best XI Of Group Stage Revealed

After 12 games in the group stage of the maiden TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League which produced 31 goals, the Best XI for the group stage was unveiled on Sunday by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

The team comprises three players each from Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC of South Africa, Hasaacas Ladies FC of Ghana, and ASFAR FC of Morocco.

A player each from Malabo Kings of Equatorial Guinea and host, Wadi Degla FC of Egypt completed the list.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC goalkeeper, Rabalao in goal behind the defensive four of Mbane (Sundowns), Egyir (Hasaacas Ladies), Zanele Nhlapho (Sundowns Ladies), and Pepertual Agyekum (Hasaacas Ladies).

The midfield three is made up of Grace Mfwamba (Malabo Kings), Evelyn Badu (Hasaacas Ladies FC), and Chebbak Ghizlane (ASFAR FC).

Fatima Tagnaout (ASFAR FC), Sanaa Mssoudy (ASFAR FC), and Zachwieja (Wadi Degla FC) complete the front three.

The maiden TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League has reached the semi-final stage after the conclusion of group games.

Group A winners, Hasaacas Ladies FC will face Group B runners-up, ASFAR FC.
Hasaacas Ladies FC won two of its three group games; 3-1 against Malabo Kings and 3-0 versus AS Mandé of Mali before playing out a 2-2 draw with Wadi Degla FC.

ASFAR FC defeated Rivers Angels of Nigeria 3-0, lost 2-0 to Vihiga Queens of Kenya before playing out a goalless draw with Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies which finished top of Group B with seven points will trade tackles with Group A runners-up, Malabo Kings (4 points).
