2022 AFC Asian Women’s Cup: China edge South Korea To Clinch Ninth Title

A last gasp goal from Xiao Yuyi helped China to a 3-2 win over South Korea in the final of the 2022 AFC Asian Women’s Cup on Sunday after going two goals down at halftime.

South Korea raced to a two-goal lead in the first as Choe Yu-Ri and Ji So-Yun scored in the 27th minute and the additional minutes of the first half.
Two goals in the space of four-second half minutes equalled the score-line for China as Tang Jiali and Zhang Linyan converted in the 68th and 72nd minute respectively.
Wang Shanshan in the 93rd minute set up Xiao Yuyi for the winning goal as China came from a two-goal down to clinch the title.
The dramatic final ensured that the Chinese Steel Roses become the ultimate comeback queens by winning their ninth AFC Asian Women’s Cup Title.
