2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup: Holders To Start Title Defence Against USA

Holders of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, Spain will start their title defence against the United States of America (USA) when the 2024 edition of the tournament gets underway on October 16.

The European side will also face Korea Republic and Colombia in Group B. Their clash with Colombia is the repeat if the final in 2022.
Host, Dominican Republic are in the same group with Ecuador, New Zealand, and Nigeria and will start the tournament against Ecuador.
Korea DPR, Mexico, Kenya, and England will battle it out in Group C.
Former champions Japan, debutant Poland, Brazil, and Zambia will trade tackles in Group D.
The tournament is scheduled to hold from 16 October to 3 November, 2024.

In 2010, another Korean side, Korea Republic won the title in Trinidad and Tobago. France won the 2012 title in Azerbaijan.
The third Asian side to claim the title, Japan won the trophy in Costa Rica (2014).
North Korea won their second title in 2016 when Jordan hosted the competition.
In 2018 and 2022, Spain won back-to-back titles and afforded to claim the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup title before winning their first-ever FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.
