2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup: Brazil Show Cameroon Exit Door

Wednesday’s Round of 16 clash at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup between Brazil and Cameroon was the first ever meeting for both sides at this level.

The South Americans were given a tough test by the African debutant and had to wait till extra time to secure a 3-1 win.

Two goals in extra time by Dudinha spurred Brazil to the last eight of a competition taking place in South America.



Naomi Ndjoah Eto broke the deadlock for the Central African side in the 22nd minute.

Brazil responded with the equaliser from Priscila in the 35th minute.

Both sides were not separated after 90 minutes taking the duel into another extra 30 minutes.

A brace from Dudinha in the 91st and 124th minute sealed a 3-1 win for Brazil.

They will battle it out against North Korea or Austria in the quarter final.

With a Round of 16 finish in their first-ever appearance at the tournament, Cameroon will return home with pride while Brazil continue their quest to win the competition on Colombia.
