At Roma, he made 56 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals, before he was pushed aside by the arrival of Tammy Abraham. At Getafe, he scored six goals in 18 appearances.

Joaquin joined Betis at 16 and has become one of the most important figures in Spanish football of the last 20 years. He became the player to have played more games for Betis than anyone else during the 2020/21 season.

He was instrumental for the club as they lifted the Copa Del Rey trophy and helped them finish fifth on the La Liga table last season, narrowly missing out on UEFA Champions League, something they would like to remedy this coming season.
