Harry Kane has confessed that Cristiano Ronaldo inspires him to stay fit and feature consistently for the national team, as he prepares to make his 100th appearance for the Three Lions.

Last Thursday, in Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Croatia, Ronaldo scored his 900th career goal. Three days later, on Sunday, he scored Portugal’s late winner against Scotland to reach his 901st goal.

With five Ballon d’Or victories under his belt and other career records broken, the five-time champion is regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time.
Kane, who is 31 years old, has received a number of individual awards throughout his career, but he has not yet won a significant club or national championship.
The England captain was the top scorer in his first season at Bayern Munich, but it also happened to be the season that Bayer Leverkusen ended the Bavarians’ ten-year Bundesliga domination.
Even if he doesn’t have any trophy to show fro his goalscoring exploits, Kane is still driven to be like Ronaldo. He stated as much prior to England’s Nations League encounter against the Republic of Ireland. He wants to emulates the Portuguese legend.
Kane said: “Watching Ronaldo score his 901st goal aged 39 inspires me to play for as long as possible. I love representing England more than anything and I don’t want it to end any time soon.

“It’s just about continuing to improve and be consistent. Who knows how many caps or goals I can get but I’m hungry for more.
“I try to use different players to motivate me. To score over 900 goals in your career is an exceptional record, to play until the age he is is really inspiring,” Kane added.
When a reporter mentioned that Ronaldo has remained a striker rather than dropping deeper as he has aged, Kane responded by saying: “I’ve always been someone who can play high or drop deep. I’ve got enough of an all-round game to be effective in both areas.”
