While the players seems to be warming up to their new manager, not players have been fully involved so far as some have found themselves playing less than they would have wanted and with the January getting closer, the perfect opportunity to find a solution has presented itself.

For the Nerazzurri, there are at least four players that could leave the club due to various reasons. Starting with Davide Frattesi, who is attracting interest from Roma, Juventus and Napoli, the midfielder is eager for more playing time so that he doesn’t lose his place in the Italy squad for the World Cup.

Another player on the list Francesco Acerbi, with fresh reports that after losing his spot in the team recently to Yann Bisseck, the winter transfer window could be the perfect opportunity for him to explore other options and the club would readily grant his wish if he puts in a transfer request.

There is also Tomas Palacios who was signed in the summer of 2024 for a reported fee of €7m but the 22-year-old has only made three cameo appearances for the club in the past 18 months and after failing to secure an exit in the summer, the winter will present another opportunity for him in search of more playing time.

Another name that could be use an exit in the coming months is Andy Diouf as the Frenchman has failed to secure regular minutes after his debut appearance immediately after his arrival and now, with the rising form of Piotr Zielinski and Petar Sucic, his chances of playing are reduced.

Finally, there is Luis Henrique and according to reports in France, Inter tried to loan the wing-back to his former club, Lyon and AS Monaco, but they were not interested. The 23-year-old was a big investment over the summer, secured from Marseille for €22.8m plus up to a further €2m in add-ons.

Including the FIFA Club World Cup, the Brazilian has made 11 competitive appearances, failing to contribute to a single goal and only two of those games were from the starting XI and he failed to make an impact as Denzel Dumfries has proved to be the undisputed starter on the right side.

Now according to a report from Footmercato, Inter have been shopping Luis Henrique around for a potential January loan, hoping that he could revitalise his form in the Ligue 1 but no club is in taking on the winger for a temporary spell despite his good form last season that saw him contribute seven goals and eight assists.

In a related development, Inter are facing a key decision in goal ahead of next season, with uncertainty surrounding both Yann Sommer and Josep Martínez. Sommer remains the current No.1, but is not getting any young and then with his contract expiring in June, the club must soon decide whether to renew or move on.

Consequently, according to a report from Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are building up quite the shortlist of potential successors. The Initial plan was to give Martínez more playing time this season to evaluate him as a long-term option, handing him consecutive starts against Sassuolo and Cagliari.

However, the Spaniard’s involvement in a tragic car accident, in which a life was lost has inevitably affected his situation. While investigations reportedly clear Martínez of wrongdoing, Inter recognise the psychological impact and have provided full support as he continues to recover mentally as well as physically.

Still, practical considerations remain. Sommer’s age makes a renewal unlikely, and Inter could decide to recruit a new goalkeeper while keeping Martínez as backup and according to the reports, Elia Caprile (Cagliari), Noah Atubolu (Freiburg) and Zion Suzuki (Parma) have all been scouted.

Furthermore, all three are young and are representing or have represented their national teams, aligning with Inter’s long-term strategy and Oaktree’s financial policy of keeping signings under €25m and club will now assess who has the technical ability, composure and leadership to succeed Sommer as the new No.1.
