The likes of Joshua Zirkzee, Serhou Guirassy and Benjamin Sesko are the names being linked most heavily with the job, but the Rossoneri have been urged to aim for bigger names playing from some of Europe’s best sides.

Former Fiorentina forward, Luca Toni has urged Milan to try and make a move for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo who could get less game time with Kylian Mbappe set to join the club. Speaking to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the former Italian striker was asked about what Milan should be doing this summer to ensure that they have a quality new striker to replace Giroud.

He highlighted Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez as potentially available given Erling Haaland is their starter. “If City’s Julian Alvarez no longer wanted to be on the bench, he would be a player who has already won and is used to winning. I would go for those players from the big teams who have less space,” Toni said.

Perhaps aiming even higher, Toni thinks that there is an opportunity for Milan to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid given Mbappe could be about to arrive and take his place in the team. “Rodrygo from Real Madrid also comes to mind , who is someone I would take immediately if they had to sell him.

“You know, with the arrival of Mbappe there will be a lot of chaos in that advanced position. It is therefore better to be a protagonist at Milan, rather than playing less. Rather than being on the bench, I would embrace a project from a top club like the Rossoneri,” he said.

Whilst these are names that would certainly get the Milan fanbase excited, it is fair to assume that their wage demands would be far too high for a club like Milan right now, without even factoring the transfer fees and agent’s commissions.

Of course, they’re already having issues going after one of their primary target, Sesko after his agent declared that his price tag would be too high for Italian club, which is why they have turned their attention towards Guirassy and Zirkzee who will be available for €17m and €40m (their respective release clause).

Milan have been offered two Sassuolo players during talks with Enzo Raiola, the agent of a long-time Rossoneri target: Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.Milan are interested in Liverpool midfielder Gravenberch and took information about the midfielder’s availability in their latest meeting with his representative Enzo Raiola, according to Calciomercato.

According to the report, Milan have been a long-time admirer of the Dutch midfielder, but as things stand, the ‘financial conditions’ are not favourable, so talks were immediately put on hold.

During the same meeting, Milan were offered Sassuolo’s Marcus Pedersen and Andrea Pinamonti, who will leave Mapei following the Neroverdi’s relegation to Serie B.

Raiola is also the agent of Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer who has recently been linked with a summer move to the Saudi Pro League.Milan are expected to appoint Paulo Fonseca as their new head coach. The Portuguese tactician will sign his contract with the Rossoneri in June.
