According to Sky Sport Italia, Newcastle are ready to send an opening bid for Thiaw. The Magpies have been linked with the 22-year-old for several weeks. According to the report, the Premier League side recently contacted the Rossoneri to confirm their interest in the ex-Schalke 04 defender.
They have yet to submit a formal bid to the Rossoneri, but an official proposal is expected soon.Milan have already identified a potential reinforcement in central defence: RB Salzburg’s Strahinja Pavlovic, but the Rossoneri may sign the Serbia international regardless of Thiaw’s move to Newcastle.
Of immediate importance is the move for Fofana and Samardzic, because of the interest from other clubs in them, especially for the French midfielder. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Fofana is ‘virtually a Milan player’.
But according to Corriere dello Sport, the Rossoneri must beat competition from Manchester United and Atletico Madrid.Milan are pushing to complete their second summer signing and they are confident of securing a deal for the France international this week.
For Samardzic, it might be a little bit complicated, after Udinese Technical Director Gianluca Nani revealed that the club don’t want to sell him but he did confirm Milan have opened preliminary talks for the Serbia international.

Samardzic has emerged as one of Milan’s targets to strengthen their midfield this season.La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Rossoneri will soon make an opening €15m bid for the 22-year-old, but Sky Sport claims that Udinese are aiming for over €20m.
“Samardzic is a Udinese player who we don’t want to sell because he is important,” Bianconeri director Nanni told Sky Sport. “Obviously, if we receive an adequate proposal, it’s part of our job to evaluate it with the footballer and entourage and the team interested. Samardzic is not a player we are offering to other clubs because we think he is important.”
He underwent medical tests with Milan’s city rivals Inter last season, but the midfielder’s agent and father failed to reach an agreement with the Nerazzurri. Now, the Rossoneri are interested in the 22-year-old and have even reportedly reached a principle of agreement with the player’s camp.
“There was a quick contact [with Milan], but no offer or negotiation yet,” Nanni confirmed. “He is a Udinese player right now, and we want to keep him.“I’d be surprised if top clubs did not look for him. Inter, Lazio, and some Premier League clubs have done so in the past. He is a strong player, and of course, he is requested, which is a source of pride for us.” He further added.
