So far, a number of targets have been linked and they even missed out on one signing but they seems to have now settled on the choice of either Marc Pubill or Guéla Doué and one of them will definitely come, seeing as they need to adequately replace Theo Hernandez.

Last week, it was looking like they would go for Spanish international Pubill, but they’ve now pulled back. Despite having him undergo separate medical tests in Barcelona, it is now reported that Milan aren’t prepared to make a strong offer for Pubill.

The search for a right-back has been beset by problems and delays, which saw Archie Brown snatched from under their noses by Fenerbahce. Just as it had seemed they were convinced by the idea of signing Pubill from UD Almeria, it would seem they’ve now changed their minds again.

The player had the unusual step of undergoing preliminary medical tests to check the stability of his knee last week, even before Milan had made a formal offer. Despite the tests giving good results, this is believed to be a technical decision to look elsewhere.

Now several reliable sources are reporting that Allegri prefers to focus on getting Doué instead, so have put Pubill on the back burner. Doué is also going to be a tricky proposition, with a price-tag of over €20m and Chelsea said to be hovering around the 22-year-old Ivory Coast international.

He is the senior brother to PSG starlet, Desire Doué. Milan had been prepared to go for Pubill if the cost was €15m, but seeing as the asking price is €18m plus add-ons, this put them off, also because of his history with injury as they prepare to also offload Emerson Royal.

In a related development, Club Brugge coach, Nicky Hayen has revealed that Milan are not the only interested club in Ardon Jashari, while club captain, Hans Vanaken insists that the Rossoneri must match the midfielder’s €40m price tag as the two clubs resume talks this week.

Milan remain in talks with the Belgian club for the Swiss international after reaching an agreement on personal terms with the 22-year-old. However, the Serie A giants haven’t yet shaken hands with his club, which have rejected every offer the Rossoneri have sent so far.

“The situation is very clear. He should return to training on Monday. In football, certain things can be very complicated. This is indeed a complex situation. I feel trust in the club to handle it properly. We’ll see how it turns out,” Hayen said after the 2-1 win over Union Saint-Gilloise in the Belgian Supercup Final.

Jashari did not participate in the game on Sunday and had even snubbed the team photo a few days ago. “I won’t reveal what the club management tells me, but I know what they expect from this sale. It’s up to them to speak; everything is clear. We’ll see how long this situation lasts. I fully support the club,” the coach continued.

“Our group is like a family. Maybe not everyone agrees with what’s happening but everyone understands how football works and knows his quality. We just need to stay calm. It’s impossible to predict what will happen in the coming days, especially because Milan isn’t the only interested club.”

West Ham and Nottingham Forest have reportedly sent offers for Jashari, but the player only wants to join Milan this summer. Club Brugge captain Vanaken added: “We have no choice but to handle it this way. We know Ardon is in talks with Milan and currently doesn’t feel ready to play for us.”

“Those who stepped in have demonstrated that they possess the qualities to replace him. If he no longer wants to play for Brugge, we’ll deal with it. Life goes on.” Jashari is expected to return to Club Brugge training today while talks between the Rossoneri and the Belgian side continue.

“If he returns to the team, we’ll treat him like a Club Brugge player. He’d be an added value. Unfortunately, it’s not up to us. It depends on Ardon, the club and Milan. We focus on the pitch. If going to Milan is the peak of his career, we accept it, but only at the right price.” Vanaken continued.

“I admit that perhaps I would have done the same thing at his age, but the club must be satisfied financially. The fact that there is no release clause makes everything more difficult. Now it’s up to Milan. If they pay the €40m the club is asking, Jashari will become a Milan player.” He further added.
