The Jeddah based clubs could not stand the test of their opponents as they came short against the odds.
Al Ittihad’s poor run in the tournament continues as they fell to a morale wrenching 4-2 defeat at the hands of Al Duhail.
Sergio Conceicao’s men had no answers to their hosts who raced to a four goal lead in the match-up.
Adil Boulbina scored a hat-trick for the Qatari side with Krzysztof Piatek also getting on the scoresheet in the important victory that sees them move to 6th on the log.
Karim Benzema did salvage some pride for the visitors with two late goals but they were not enough to secure anything for the Saudi champions.
It leaves the Tigers with just six points from fives games, leaving them out of the qualification places.
Al Ahli however remain in contention for a place in the knockouts despite their disappointing home defeat to Sharjah Cultural Club.

The Emirati side were fired to an unexpected victory by Ousmane Camara’s 81st minute effort.
With maximum points from that game, Al Sharja move seventh on the log with seven points from fives games.
It was Al Ahli’s first defeat of this season’s Champions League Elite after going past all comers to lift the title last term.
