AFCON 2023: “Try Harder” – Liverpool’s Salah Hits Back At Critics
Written By Albert Echatah
After returning to Liverpool to recuperate from his hamstring injury, Mohamed Salah has responded angrily to those who questioned his commitment to Egypt.

At the African Cup of Nations, Salah hobbled off the pitch in the 2-2 tie with Ghana. However, it turns out that his injury is more serious than initially thought.
The winger may be able to participate in the AFCON final should Egypt advance that far, as he is expected to be out for three weeks.
The Pharaohs veteran Ahmed Hassen, among others, blasted the 31-year-old for choosing to go back to Anfield for treatment, accusing the current captain of Egypt of “plotting his departure” from the competition.
With a tweet stating, “Yesterday I started the treatment and rehabilitation programme and I will do everything possible to be ready as soon as possible and return to the national team as was agreed upon from the beginning,” Salah has now broken his silence on the subject.
“Try harder,” Salah said as he concluded his remarks, ostensibly in response to his critics.
Less kind towards the critics, the player’s agent Ramy Abbass Issa launched a caustic attack on what he referred to as “hyperventilating influencers.”
