The 2022 World Cup semi-finalists were unable to make an early breakthrough despite a golden opportunity inside the opening 11 minutes. Iyad Mohamed’s needless foul on Brahim Díaz left referee Jean-Jacques Ndala with little option but to award a penalty.
However, Comoros goalkeeper Yannick Pandor came to the rescue, producing a fine save with his outstretched leg to deny Soufiane Rahimi and spare Mohamed’s blushes.
Morocco eventually found their rhythm after the break, delivering a scintillating second-half performance that extended their unbeaten home run to nine matches. The Atlas Lions now turn their attention to their second test of the 2025 AFCON tournament, where they face Mali on Friday.
