This resulted in a cagey first half with limited scoring chances. However, the high-profile crowd, featuring stars like Kylian Mbappé, Jules Koundé, and Aurélien Tchouaméni, witnessed a moment of brilliance when Ivory Coast goalkeeper Yahia Fofana made a vital save, tipping Christian Kofane’s powerful strike onto the woodwork.
After a relatively quiet first half, the match exploded into life following the interval with a flurry of action before the 60-minute mark. The drama began when Franck Kessié had a goal disallowed for offside, followed immediately by Danny Namaso striking the woodwork with a deflected shot.
The momentum shifted instantly as Amad Diallo opened the scoring for Ivory Coast, creating just enough room on the edge of the area to fire a magnificent, curling shot into the net.

The lead was short-lived, however. Junior Tchamadeu leveled for Cameroon after his powerful strike took a significant deflection off Ghislain Konan, looping over a stranded Devis Epassy and into the goal. While Bryan Mbeumo nearly snatched a victory with a dangerous late free-kick that whistled past the post, the match ended in a draw.
The result is significant for both sides, as it secures at least a top-three finish in the group for each team
