After Recent Disappointment, Juventus Is Now Trailing Two Unwanted EPL Stars But Can Only Get One

Consequently, there are mixed reports on Manchester United’s transfer stance on Juventus target Joshua Zirkzee, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that the Red Devils are open to discussing an initial loan with an option to buy for the former Bologna star who has struggled in the EPL.

Hence, they’ve resumed their search for a new centre-forward and will open talks with Tottenham and PSG for Kolo Muani’s return to the Allianz Stadium but the path towards Zirkzee may be more appealing as they tried to sign him before his move to Manchester United but were priced out of the deal.

According to Gazzetta and Sky Sport Italia, the Dutch forward remains on the Bianconeri’s agenda even now as the Pink Paper even claims that the Red Devils are now open to discussing a loan deal with an option to buy, which they were reluctant to do in the first half of January.

Right now, things have changed, starting with the appointment of Michael Carrick as their new coach plus the return of Amadou Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo from AFCON duties. Furthermore, Zirkzee was omitted from the Manchester United squad for games against Manchester City and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, according to Sky, Juve are still waiting on a final decision from Old Trafford as Manchester United are still unsure over Zirkzee’s loan exit but they should have answer between today and tomorrow, at which point, they will either proceed or look for a new target.

According to a separate report from Tuttosport, another EPL club, Tottenham Hotspur will not halt Juventus’ plan to bring Randal Kolo Muani back to the Allianz Stadium as the North-London club are ready to part ways with their striker after less than six months of joining.

The French forward joined Spurs on loan from PSG on deadline day last summer after Juventus had spent weeks negotiating with the French giants to retain the striker after a six-month loan spell. They’re now eager to include an option to buy in the deal, but won’t pay more than €5m for the loan until the end of the season.

In a related development, the Old Lady are ready to resolve the situation surrounding Douglas Luiz as Aston Villa coach Unai Emery has confirmed that the player is set to return to the club because of central midfield injuries, a club he played for from 2019 to 2024.

The Brazilian will complete a loan move to Aston Villa from Juventus in the coming days as Emery confirmed the midfielder’s return to the club during a press conference. “There are five days to finish the window. [Douglas] Luiz is a player joining us because of central midfield injuries,” said the Aston Villa coach.

The midfielder spent the first part of the season at Nottingham Forest, but the Premier League side informed Juventus that they were unwilling to make his move permanent for €25m and now, Juve will therefore welcome him back to the club before sending him back to Aston Villa, also on loan with an option to buy.

The 27-year-old had joined Juve from Aston Villa in a permanent €50m transfer in the summer of 2024 and during his time with the Villans, he scored 22 goals and provided 24 assists in 204 appearances across all competitions but his spell in Italy was way less productive as he failed to score or assist in 27 matches in 2024-25.
