AIK Secure Promotion To Swedish Top Flight

AIK has secured their promotion to the top-flight Swedish Dammalsvenskan after a 7-0 thrashing of Gamla Upsala on Saturday.

The visitors raced to a 3-0 lead before the end of the first period.
Adelisa Grabus, Silja Jaatinen, and Jennie Nordin scored in the first half to give AIK a comfortable lead which the team took into the locker room.
Four more goals followed in the second half from different players.
Matilda Nilden, Daniella Famili, Patricia Fischerova, and Laura Juul Hansen converted four goals in the second period to compound the host’s woes.
The win was AIK’s 13 straight win of the season after a 2-2 draw with Bollstanas back in June.
With two games to the end of the second-tier Swedish Elitettan season, AIK has nine points lead ahead of second-placed Trelleborg which has secured their return to the top-flight women’s football league.
The top two teams automatically gain promotion to the top flight while the third-placed side will play in the promotion Playoff.

The team with 52 points after 23 games seat in the second position, four points ahead of Alingsas.
A win for Trelleborg against Bollstanas on October 21 will confirm their promotion to the top flight.
