The tournament which is scheduled to start on the 12th of December and end on the 22nd will see the Saudi club go head to head with six other clubs from across different continents.

Al Ittihad will have to be at their very best to win the title and become the first Asian club to do so.

In their way are Manchester City, Al Ahly, club Leon, Urawa Reds Diamond, Fluminese and Auckland City.

Former winners N’Golo Kante, Karim Benzema and Fabinho will be heavily relied upon to provide the necessary experience needed to go all the way.

They begin their campaign against Australian side Auckland City on December 12.

On Thursday, Al Ittihad before their Club World Cup journey begins will face Damac in the Saudi Pro League.

It’s the sixteenth game of the league campaign and the Tigers could move up to third with a win in Abha.

Gallardo remains unbeaten since assuming the role of head coach at the Jeddah based club.

He replaced former coach Nuno Espírito Santo who could not steady the ship after having led them to the title the previous season.
