Karim Benzema has sustained an injury while in training with his club Al Ittihad FC.

The veteran was declared injured by the club who released a statement on their official website.
“First-team captain Karim Benzema sustained an injury during training and has since started a recovery program at the club’s clinic, in coordination with our medical partner, the International Medical Center.
“His progress will continue to be monitored closely as he works toward a return to full fitness.” Concluded the statement.

The captain’s availability for the SPL game against Al Fateh on Friday has now become doubtful.
Benzema scored a hat trick in his side’s last game against Al Akhdoud to break the five hundred goals barrier in his career.
