San Diego FC announced on Friday that they completed the signing of Alex Mighten from Premier League club Nottingham Forest.

More Details

Mighten, 22, has a contract that runs through 2026 with a 2027 option. Furthermore, San Diego received $50,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM) from Nashville SC in exchange for Mighten’s Discovery Priority.

“Alex is an exciting addition to San Diego FC, bringing the energy and creativity we seek in our attacking players,” sporting director Tyler Heaps said in a statement.

“He has unique and special qualities with his ability to unbalance defenders and we are excited to see what he can contribute and bring to MLS. We look forward to welcoming him to SDFC in 2025.”

Mighten has played in 103 professional games for Nottingham, scoring 6 goals and dishing out 2 assists, while on loan at Port Vale, Sheffield Wednesday, and KV Kortrijk in Belgium.

Mighten has competed for several England U-20 and youth international teams. He can play for the United States men’s national team.

Mighten joins Mexican international Chucky Lozano and Danish international Marcus Ingvartsen as San Diego’s third attacker and sixth overall signing.
