Ibrahim joined Houston two years ago from NK Lokomotiva Zagreb, a top-tier Croatian team, where he made 90 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals and dishing out nine assists. Additionally, he assisted them in winning the US Open Cup in 2023.
“Aliyu is a young and dynamic player whose experience in MLS and the international level adds valuable depth and gives us another quality attacking option,” said Crew general manager Issa Tall.
“We are excited to welcome Aliyu to Columbus and look forward to integrating him into our squad.”

Ibrahim was Columbus’s second offensive addition before to the end of the Primary Transfer Window. Dániel Gazdag, a DP midfielder, joined earlier this month in a trade with the Philadelphia Union valued at up to $4.5 million.
Under head coach Wilfried Nancy, Columbus is still one of the best clubs in the Eastern Conference and the reigning Leagues Cup champions. The leaders of a deep offensive group are Gazdag, Jacen Russell-Rowe, and Diego Rossi.
DPs Ondřej Lingr and Ezequiel Ponce are the focal points of Houston’s attack. Later this season, they also anticipate the return of U22 Initiative wingers Lawrence Ennali and Nelson Quiñones following long-term ailments.
