Amorim Identifies Inter Star As Manchester United's January Priority

Manchester United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim, is reportedly making Inter Milan’s defender Federico Dimarco a primary transfer priority for the upcoming January window.

This follows a summer of significant recruitment for the “Red Devils,” who brought in Senne Lammens, Diego Leon, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko.

Man United’s start to the Premier League season has been disappointing, with only three wins, one draw, and three losses through their first seven matches, despite the new players.

Consequently, Amorim’s position is being questioned, though he seems dedicated to improving the existing squad and seeking better players in the January transfer window.

The future of Inter Milan defender and Italian international Federico Dimarco is uncertain, despite his importance to the squad. With his contract set to expire in under two years, Manchester United’s manager views him as a priority acquisition, and the club is reportedly considering a January bid.

Inter are in talks to extend Dimarco’s contract but might still accept a significant offer for the player. Federico Dimarco is regarded as one of the best wing-backs in Europe thanks to his strong attacking output for Inter.

Despite the change in management from Simone Inzaghi to Chivu, the 27-year-old has continued his excellent form this term, directly contributing to five goals (scoring two and assisting three) in just six Serie A appearances.

Dimarco appears to be an ideal fit as a left wing-back for Rúben Amorim’s favored 3-4-2-1 formation; however, it’s uncertain if he has any desire to leave Inter Milan.

This strong connection to the Nerazzurri is rooted in his history as an academy graduate and a key player in winning multiple trophies, including the 2023-24 Serie A title.
