The 26 year old joined Inter in the summer on a free transfer from Ajax Amsterdam after seeing his contract run out at the Dutch club.

He had to wait until Wednesday night in Inter’s Champions League opener to make his debut.

However, it was a wait worth it as the former Barcelona Academy player set a new record in that game despite his side losing by two goals.

He made ten saves on the night to become the Inter goalkeeper with the most saves in a single Champions League game since Opta started collecting stats in 2003.

Bayern Munich were still able to fire two goals past the energetic Onana to steal a 2-0 victory at the San Siro.

Meanwhile…

Inter Milan have now lost three of their opening six games of the season which is a worrying stat for the club.

They’ve lost the last two in all competitions while conceding five goals in the same period.

They take on Torino at the weekend in another home game as they hope to get back to winning ways.

Fans have called for Onana to be given the nod ahead of ageing Samir Handanovic who has but lost his reflexes.

Inter sit seventh on the Serie A table with nine points from a possible fifteen and may see their title aspirations go into the flames should they fail to record victory against Torino.
