Christensen’s campaign has been disrupted by injury. A calf problem sidelined him for key fixtures against Olympiacos, Club Brugge, Real Madrid and Elche.

Despite that, the Danish centre-back has made 17 appearances this season, featuring 12 times in the league, four in the Champions League and once in the Copa del Rey.

His latest outing came in the cup against Guadalajara where he opened the scoring in Barcelona’s 2–0 victory in the round of 32.
