Thursday night at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Irons overcame a late deficit to win 2-1, extending Spurs’ winless streak to five games.

In his first game back from suspension, Cristian Romero gave Spurs the lead early on. Although they dominated the game for the majority of it, goals from Jarrod Bowen and James Ward-Prowse in the second half gave East London the victory.

Postecoglou has cause for concern after seeing just one point from their last five games despite leading in each of them. To make matters worse, Son’s injury is now a concern.

In the 88th minute, the prolific forward hobbled off the field to be replaced by rookie Alejo Veliz. In his post-match press conference, a dejected Postecoglou responded with a simple “I don’t know” when asked about the South Korea international. I’m not certain.

This current run has seen Tottenham slip from league leaders and potential title contenders to fifth in the table – level on points with the much maligned Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag is anxious to prevent Jadon Sancho from making a “empty gesture,” therefore Manchester United is apparently willing to accept a “significant loss” on him.

Sancho has a disruptive impact on the rest of United’s team, according to manager Ten Hag, who is determined to get rid of the winger.

This season, Sancho and Ten Hag had a nasty falling out, with the Dutchman publicly criticizing his player in the media for his lack of effort in practice. After spending £73 million on him in 2021, United is now willing to suffer a “significant loss” on the player in the January transfer window.
