Cassano, who is a known Inter fan has never shied away from controversy and he has now used his podcast appearances as a platform to air his controversial views once again, sticking to his contrarian tag and in most cases, it is Inter players that have been at the receiving end of his outspoken nature.
The former striker has returned to criticize two of Inter’s star in the recent podcast where he hit out, saying: “looking at the way Barella and Bastoni get treated, I’ve never seen that before. I’ve never seen media favouritism for everyone like the kind they get,” he proclaimed.
His co-host on the podcast, Nicola Ventola interjected, “but Anto, Barella and Bastoni are great players.” “Go f*ck yourself, Ventola!” Cassano replied. “So in the last three years, have you revised your opinion at all on Barella and Bastoni?” asked Daniele Adani and Cassano gave his views.
“When de Ligt came to Italy, I destroyed him at first, but then I changed my mind about him. I’m not a fan of Kean at Fiorentina, but when he’s having a great season, how can I say no?” “But when I say I’d start Frattesi ahead of Barella, that hasn’t changed,” he insisted.
“This is the second season in a row Barella has only scored three goals. Then the other player has half the minutes and twice as many goals!” Cassano said. “Then some idiot says, every time he scores, he seems to be angry with someone! Well thank god for that!”
Cassano said of Frattesi. “He never plays. He never gets his fair chance and as far as Bastoni, as soon as he plays 40-50 metres from goal and has a sensational season I’ll say he’s a top player, but today, for me he’s not that good.” He continued.
Now, another former Inter star, Emiliano Viviano has replied to Cassano as he feels that he is delirious with his recent comments. “I don’t know where he gets certain opinions. For me, everything he says is wrong,” the former keeper laid into Cassano. “He’s completely delirious.”

“Why does he have this problem with Barella and Bastoni?” Viviano continued. “I’d tell him that he contradicts himself. He says something like that. Then he says that Barella and Frattesi switching doesn’t make a difference. He likes players who really play football, but that’s not Frattesi,” Viviano argued.
“Frattesi makes great attacking runs. He has great tempo, intensity in attack, but are you going to tell me that he does all the things Barella does?” Viviano went on. “Come on. Frattesi gets between the lines in midfield? Finds passing lanes in midfield?” the former Inter and Sampdoria keeper continued.

“I don’t understand him sometimes, I swear. Even what he says about Bastoni playing in a back four. That’s wrong as well. How do you know whether or not he can play in a back four?” He concluded. For the Nerazzurri, they will be in action this weekend when they welcome Cagliari to the San Siro, hoping keep their lead at the top of the table intact.
