Brazilian midfielder, Phillipe Coutinho has become an unwanted player at his club, Barcelona and the club are looking to get him off their club and are willing to listen to offers for the former Liverpool player.
“It would be useful to change something, even if it is never easy,” Arteta told reporters when asked about the upcoming January transfer window. “We are working towards this, to understand what our needs are, and to find the right solutions.”
With the success experienced by Martin Odegaard, who first joined the Gunners on loan before making the move permanent, the Gunners will be looking to explore the same option on Coutinho and both teams could quickly accelerate in their negotiation and an agreement could be found as long as the player is willing.
The only stumbling block to any deal could be his huge wage as the player is one of the highest earners at Barcelona but if he can take abwage cut or Barcelona be willing to shoulder part of his wages, finding an agreement should be relatively easy.
Not minding his history with Liverpool, the opportunity to once again prove himself outside of Barcelona could help convince the 29-years old to make the move as the Brazilian won the UEFA Champions League trophy with Bayern Munich while he was on loan from Barcelona before returning to the Camp Nou this season.
Haven failed to impress Xavi Hernandez, a move away from the club would be beneficial to the club as they look to free up some funds to be able to accommodate the impending arrival of Ferran Torres and Coutinho also gets to have much playing time.
But with the presence and form of Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe, the Gunners might not be so keen to sign the Brazilian.
Meanwhile…
Arsenal could propose a swap deal to Barcelona, whereby they send Pierre Aubameyang to Barcelona while Coutinho goes in the opposite direction.

The Arsenal captain has been frozen out of the first team squad after turning up late for training and the club have been marching on in his absence with Brazilian striker, Gabriel Martinelli doing well in his absence.
With the player seeming to be of lesser importance to the team, now could be a good time to get rid of him given his age and high wage and the Gunners could propose a swap deal to Barcelona, sending Aubameyang to Barcelona and they get Coutinho in return with both deals probably be a loan move.
