English Women’s Super League (WSL) side, Arsenal FC announced their maiden trip to the United States of America (USA) as part of the Club’s pre-season preparations.

The team will be based in Washington D.C. from August 15-26, with friendly matches taking place against National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Washington Spirit and fellow Barclays Women’s Super League team, Chelsea.

These matches will take place at Audi Field on Sunday, August 18, and Sunday, August 25 respectively, with a training camp at George Mason University held over the course of the visit.

This will follow Arsenal men’s US Tour across Los Angeles and Philadelphia between 21-31 July, for matches against Manchester United and Liverpool.

Jonas Eidevall and his players’ pre-season tour to the US comes after a successful trip to Australia which rounded off the 2023/2024 season.

Their first-ever match there saw 42,120 supporters watch the Gunners beat A-League All Stars Women 1-0 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. Over 5,000 supporters were also welcomed to an open training session at AAMI Park in Melbourne during the trip.


Chelsea had previously announced their game against Gotham FC, confirming reports from ESPN that surfaced last month.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea tout rosters are full of international talent — formidable opponents for two equally stacked NWSL teams gearing up for postseason action. Arsenal is home to accomplished England nationals Leah Williamson, Beth Mead, and backheel goal scorer Alessia Russo alongside Ireland captain Katie McCabe and the United States Women's National Team (USWNT) defender Emily Fox.

The games are set to be streamed live for free on DAZN.

Arsenal's US tour builds off of a trip to Melbourne, Australia at the tail end of the 2023/2024 season, where they beat A-League All Stars women 1-0 in front of 42,120 fans.
