Arsenal Nearing Agreement For Lokonga

Arsenal are accelerating for Anderlecht midfielder, Albert Lokonga with the Gunners hoping to complete a deal for the youngster.

The London club are in the hunt for a new midfield player after Martin Odegaard and Dani Ceballos returned to their parent club.

Lokonga is seen as a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s midfield and the gunners boss has already endorsed the youngster as one that can help his team move forward.

Matteo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira are all expected to leave the gunners this summer leaving them short of options in the middle of the park.

Arsenal have submitted a second offer of £12m plus £2.5m in add-ons after their initial bid was rebuffed by the Belgian outfit. The 21 year old Belgian youth international had his breakout season last year and is reported to have agreed personal terms with the English club.

However, Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano warns Atalanta are monitoring the situation and could hijack the deal if Arsenal doesn’t close the deal as expected.
