But that doesn’t mean that they’re not exploring the possibility of strengthening other areas of the pitch if the opportunity arises. That is why they’ve joined the race for Inter Milan defender, Denzel Dumfries, who is said to be on the transfer market as the Italian side look to cash in on the player to help boost their finances.

The player’s recent performance at the World Cup with the Netherlands, especially his impressive performance against the United States at the World Cup saw him attract attention across Europe, with Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United particularly keen.
With a price tag of €60 million, the Gunners will find it hard to stump that kind of cash for a defender, as they would rather use it to bring in a quality striker instead. Instead they want to propose a cash plus player offer that would see Japanese defender, Takehiro Tomiyasu move to the other side plus a cash offer, but the Nerazzurri will probably not be interested in this offer as they prefer a cash only offer.
Tomiyasu has struggled for consistent minutes this season under Mikel Arteta and the move could be all he needs to relaunch himself after an impressive start to life at the Emirates stadium.
As for Dumfries, a move to Chelsea seem more likelier with reports that the Blues are ready to make an offer for him and January and will even strike a deal to leave him at the San Siro until the end of the season.
Meanwhile…
Mikel Arteta is said to be very much interested in signing Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic to help reinforce his attack in January and lead the club’s title charge going into the second half of the season.

After failing to land him 12 months ago when the Serbian striker joined Juventus from Fiorentina, the Gunners will be hoping to take advantage of the current chaos that’s going on at the Turin club to try and snatch the forward.
But first, they will have to convince the player and also the Bianconeri into a deal, with the player currently valued at about €80 million. Currently, Eddie Nketiah remains the likely option to replace Jesus. The young England U21 star signed a new contract last summer and was given Thierry Henry’s iconic No.14 shirt.
