Arsenal Set to Seal Transfer of English Centre Back

Written by Jacobs Dunga
Arsenal football club have reportedly tabled a bid in the region of £50 million for ball playing England centre back, Ben White.
The Brighton and Hove Albion defender who missed just two games in the whole of last season attracted interest from the gunners with his impressive displays at the heart of the seagulls defence that conceded just 46 goals, a good number for a club that finished in the bottom half of the log.
He spent the 2019/2020 season on loan at Leeds United where he appeared in all 46 league games, thus helping the whites seal promotion to the EPL as champions. Leeds tried to make his deal permanent but Brighton rejected their advances and brought him back to the club which he joined in 2014 when he was just seventeen.
The six foot tall defender who can also play as a central midfielder played in all the top four tiers of English football in just four seasons which is a remarkable feat for a youngster of his age.
He earned his first England call up in May after being named in the provisional list for Euro 2020, but missed out on the final cut. He was later called up to the 26-man squad after the injury to Alexander Arnold.
Arsenal are confident of landing the player with their latest offer after an initial offer believed to be up to £40m was rejected. He’ll be a direct replacement for David Luiz who left Arsenal after the expiration of his contract. Personal terms won’t be an issue as Arsenal are more concerned about the structure of payment for now.
