Charlie Patino was fast moved to first-team training under Mikel Arteta a few years ago after being acclaimed as one of the most highly-rated players to come out of the Gunners’ Hale End academy.

The England Under-21 international’s first-team debut was also a dream come true, when in December 2021, the Emirates hosted Sunderland in a 5-1 EFL Cup crushing, with him coming off the bench to score.

A month later, Patino was given his first Arsenal start in an FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest. He played 69 minutes in that match, but he hasn’t played in the first team for the Gunners since.

Calciomercato reports that Patino has no intention of staying in North London under Arteta, as the coach is reportedly not planning to include him in his plans for the 2024–25 season.

The England youth international will therefore be searching for a fresh challenge during the summer transfer window, and he is reportedly fascinated by the prospect of playing in Italy.

The former Luton Town player, who joined the Gunners’ academy in 2015, might potentially be pursued by both Juventus and Roma, but he appears ready to conclude his nine-year stay in North London.
