The Five Stripes ended a nine-game losing drought at Chase Stadium, defeating the Supporters’ Shield-leading Herons, whose own 10-game unbeaten streak came to an end, thanks to two long-range goals by Lobjanidze.

Lobjanidze is equal for the team lead with Giorgos Giakoumakis with seven goal contributions (4g/3a) in his first full MLS season. Atlanta’s performance on Wednesday also marked their first road victory at Miami in seven games across all competitions.

After Giakoumakis won Matchday 4 honours, Lobjanidze became Atlanta’s second Player of the Matchday of 2024. The team is scheduled to compete in the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament this summer. Additionally, he is the first Georgian to take home the trophy since Vako Qazaishvili did it on Matchday 17 of the 2019 season while playing for the San Jose Earthquakes.

After their weekend away, Atlanta and Lobjanidze will play their home game against Charlotte FC, an Eastern Conference foe, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday afternoon (4:45 pm ET | Apple TV – Free, FOX, FOX Deportes).
