Atletico Madrid Look To Beat Italian Side To The Signing Of Tottenham Defender

Few days ago, reports surfaced of an interest in Atletico Madrid defender, Renan Lodi from English Premier League side, Nottingham Forest, with the report stating that the Los Rojiblancos are only interested in a permanent sales instead of a loan deal that is on the table.

Tottenham Hotspur defender, Sergio Reguilon has lost his place in the team since the coming of Antonio Conte and has found himself being the third choice, behind Ryan Sesssegnon and Ivan Perisic for the left wing-back role.

Reguilon is a naturally a left-back, hence he has struggled to adapt to the new system being implemented by Conte as he prefers to play the 3-5-2 formation with wing-backs.

According to Italian journalist Raimondo De Magistris, Atletico Madrid have formally submitted a request to sign Tottenham Hotspur left-back Sergio Reguilon on loan for the rest of the season.

Due to his past relationship with their city rival, Real Madrid, as he was a product of their youth academy, it might take some time to convince the player, but the desire to play regularly will be the final motivating factor.

Italian side, Lazio were also credited with an interest and the player would become their automatic first choice for the left-back position should he join the team from Rome, whereas, he has to contend with Reinildo Mandava should he move to Atletico.
