There are reports that the club will look to sell him in January instead of losing him for free as the two parties can’t seem to find a common ground over a new deal.
The Slovenian shot stopper has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world over the years after joining them in 2014 from SL Benfica, going from strength to strength since then.
Given his qualities, he would certainly not be short of suitors should he become available and English Premier League side, Manchester United is the most concrete of them.
The Red Devils are having second thoughts about their own goalkeeper, David De Gea and would like to replace him with Oblak.
As for Atletico, they would most certainly move for Aston Villa goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, but it would require a huge bid to snap the Argentine number one.
But the presence of Diego Simeone, the coach of Atletico, who is also Argentine may prove to be enough to lure him to the Spanish club.

English Premier League side, Leeds United are said to be weighing up on a move for Sevilla goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, as they prepare a contingency plan in case they lose their number one goalkeeper, Illan Messier.

Bounou has a contract with the Andalusian club until 2025 and it’s still unclear how Leeds plan to convince the player and Sevilla to part with the Moroccan goalkeeper.
