According to reports from Diario AS, Atletico Madrid are looking to sign Elche defender, Johan Mojica despite having a number of players in the left-back position at the moment.
The Colombian international, who earned Spanish nationality in 2019, has contributed two goals and five assists for Elche this season and is ranked as one of the finest left-backs in the five major leagues this season.
Mojica joined Elche in the January transfer window of 2021 and has earned 19 caps for the Colombian national team.
While Atletico do admire him, however, it isn’t thought that a deal will necessarily take place now. Diego Simeone is well-stocked at left-back, with Renan Lodi, Reinildo Mandava, Mario Hermoso and Yannick Carrasco all capable of playing there.
It is thought that they will try to reach a pre-contract agreement with the player and the club ahead of move in the future.
Meanwhile…
Bayern Munich are said to be mulling over the thoughts of moving for Real Madrid unwanted striker, Luka Jovic, not as a direct replacement for wantaway striker, Robert Lewandowski, but more as a squad player for rotational purposes.

With Lewandowski linked with a move away from the club, the Bavarians will move for a top striker, with Ajax’s Sebastian Haller, top of their list but that wouldn’t stop them from moving for Jovic.
Whether or not Lewandowski stays or leave, the move for the Real Madrid striker is expected to go ahead, if their coach does approve the move.
