Ben Chilwell might have seen an escape route following the latest transfer link to Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid with the club weighing up a move for the outcast in bid for backline reinforcements.
More Details
Chelsea intends to sell Ben Chilwell during the January transfer window, as Blues manager Enzo Maresca expresses that he has no regrets about excluding the defender from the squad for the UEFA Europa Conference League match.
Diego Simeone’s side spent approximately €40 million to secure Conor Gallagher over the summer. Now, they aim to target Chelsea once more to strengthen the left side of their defense.

The left-back was among several players available for transfer during the summer at the West London club. However, the Premier League team was unable to secure a new destination for Chilwell, even though Enzo Maresca acknowledged that the Englishman would not be included in his plans.

Reports from TEAMtalk indicate that Atletico Madrid is keenly interested in acquiring Ben Chilwell, as they know Chelsea is open to considering suitable offers for the left-back.
The 27-year-old English defender has been a vital part of Chelsea since joining from Leicester City. However, his situation has deteriorated in recent years due to ongoing fitness issues, and with the arrival of Enzo Maresca, he has fallen down the depth chart.
Chelsea would likely be willing to let Chilwell go, especially since he has only played 45 minutes of first-team action this season and is unlikely to see much playing time with Marc Cucurella and Levi Colwill favored ahead of him.
