On the home front, the club may be forced into a number of changes as they risk losing as much as three important players in their squad to the transfer market.

French winger, Ousmane Dembele is yet to reach an agreement with the club over a new deal and he would become a free agent in June, freeing him up to sign for any club of his choice.

The Blaugrana are looking to find a common ground with the player but it is looking less likely that he would stay with the likes of PSG, Bayern Munich and Manchester United all interested in the player.

Another player who could be set for the exit door is young midfielder, Gavi. He has a contract with the club until 2023 and the club have been in negotiations to renew his contract, but no response so far on their offer to the player and his agent.

With the club keen to avoid the Dembele type of situation, they will be more inclined to sell him now rather than lose him for free in a year’s time. His release clause is currently at €50 million.

English Premier League sides, Liverpool, Chelsea and also Bayern Munich are all credited with interest in the player. Last on the list is Netherlands midfielder, Frankie De Jong, who is said to have been transfer listed by the club already.

The choice of selling the player is for the club to raise funds for their transfer plans and to also reduce the overall squad wage bill, but should the club end up selling another player, they will be looking to keep in their squad.

Meanwhile…

PSG, have reportedly distanced themselves from any move for Dembele, on the request of their new sporting director, Luis Campos.

Campos will replace Leonardo in the sporting director role and he has asked the club not to sign the Frenchman despite a meeting between PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Dembele’s representive, Moussa Sissoko recently.

Dembele was initially thought to be identified as PSG’s desired replacement for Angel Di Maria. The Argentine ace is set to leave the club in the summer, following the end of his contract, but the move is expected to collapse.
