Written By Onyeka Daniel

Barcelona have been trying to acquire French defender, Jules Kounde for quite some time now and the player is also ready to join the Blaugrana but Sevilla aren’t ready to reduce the price tag on the player as they hope he attracts interest from other clubs, creating a competition.

More Details

Chelsea had wanted to sign the player last season and there was a brief interest earlier this summer but they seem to have moved on to other targets, leaving Barcelona as the only serious contender.

With a big difference in the Barcelona’s offer and Sevilla’s demand, the Catalan club hope to include a player in the exchange to help make up the full fee.

The future of Netherlands winger, Memphis Depay at the Camp Nou isn’t very much assured if the club do go ahead with their transfer plans which include Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Bernardo Silva and a renewal for Ousmane Dembele, leaving Depay at the peripheral of the squad as the club still have Ferland Torres and Ansu Fati.

With just a year left in his contract with the club, he has already been informed by Xavi Hernandez that he’s not in his plans for the coming season, with talks of an offer of €23 million from an unnamed English Premier League side.

The 28-year-old forward ended last season as Barcelona’s joint-top scorer with 13 goals, as many as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined the club during the January transfer window of last season.

Barcelona have set Memphis’ asking price at around €25-30 million, which will help reduce the cost of of signing Kounde.

Sevilla are demanding €65 million for the centre-back, but could be forced to accept around €35 million-plus Memphis as they need to raise money.

The only thing that could hold up this deal, if it is real is the will of the player to join the Andalusian club or seek for a move to a more prestigious club in Europe.

Meanwhile…

Atletico Madrid are looking to sign Juventus winger, Federico Bernadeschi on a free transfer as they look to bring in more options for their wings with talks of an exit for Yann Carrasco already intensifying.

Bernardeschi is available as a free agent after being released by Juventus following the expiration of his contract in Turin last month. Despite playing a regular role for the Serie A giants in 2021/22, the club opted against offering the 28-year-old an extension, and he is now looking for a new challenge.

Selling Carrasco would help the club bring in some needed cash and also reduce the overall wage bill of the squad and Bernadeschi could serve as his replacement and he can also play from the other side too.
