According to De Telegraaf, President Joan Laporta and Jordi Cruyff recently visited Mazraoui’s agent Mino Raiola and are dominating the race for the defender.

Barca, on the other hand, isn’t the only club interested. AC Milan made a “fresh offer” last week, and Borussia Dortmund is also interested.

According to the report, some Premier League clubs have expressed interest, though Mazraoui does not appear to be interested in moving to England.

Mazraoui will be available on a free transfer, having said in January that he does not intend to continue at Ajax beyond the conclusion of the season.

“My future?” he asked. That’s an excellent question, guy. I believe my prospects of staying at Ajax are quite slim, perhaps 5%. It’s a fantastic time to depart because I’m ready for something fresh.”

Dani Alves joined Barcelona as a right-back in January, but his contract only runs until the end of the season, and it’s unclear whether the 38-year-old will stay.

Xavi also has Sergino Dest available to play at right-back. The defender was linked with a move away in the winter but stayed and has drawn praise from Xavi in recent games.

Andreas Christensen has been linked with a move to Barcelona for some time, and the newest update suggests that a deal for the soon-to-be free agent is close.

According to Diario Sport, Barcelona is in advanced talks with the center-back for a four-year contract and believes a deal can be reached shortly.

Christensen has reportedly opted to quit Stamford Bridge, despite the Blues’ best efforts to keep him, and wants to head to the Camp Nou.

The report also adds that Christensen almost moved to Barca two years ago, on loan, but Chelsea ended up blocking the proposed transfer.
