“The name of Barca has come out of it looking very bad. It is great club and everyone wants to play there. But from here on we are judging it in a different way and to me it’s a disgrace when you play for them.” He further added.

While De Jong has been very insistent on staying at the Camp Nou, fresh reports has it that he’s now opening up to the idea of leaving the club. He was a second half substitute for Barcelona in their 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano.

Spanish La Liga side, Villarreal are on the verge of selling their Ecuadorian defender, Pervis Estupinan to English Premier League side, Brighton, who wants the player to replace the departed Marc Cucurella.

Estupinan was signed in 2020 from Watford for €16.4 million, but has really failed to hit the ground running since then and tye coach seems to prefer Alfonso Pedraza as his primary left-back instead.

The money they make from Estupinan should allow Villarreal to strengthen in other positions where there is less depth, with the names of Giovani Lo Celso and Sadiq Umar top on the list.
