Written by Olaleye Oluwdamilola

Despite Unai Emery’s team’s stellar play, Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet is not having the best of times at Aston Villa this year and having played just 450 minutes of football so far, the Frenchman may be able to leave the Midlands in January if a deal can be reached with Bayern Munich showing keen interest.

More Details

Bayern Munich is purportedly considering hiring him with Lenglet’s name brought up as the Bavarian team searches for affordable central defense coverage with top-tier experience.

Sport reports that Barcelona is willing to negotiate a deal in an effort to recover as much money as possible and remove his large salary from the books as it is believed that Aston Villa are not responsible for his full salary.

According to the Catalan daily, Barcelona would accept €10 million plus conditions from the Bavarian powerhouses for Lenglet, but they would not budge from their €15 million valuation during the summer window. Villa is supposedly willing to let him go but Barcelona won’t approve a deal unless it’s a permanent move rather than a loan.

They also mention that Harry Kane has reportedly recommended the 28-year-old to Bayern following a respectable season at Tottenham Hotspur, according to BILD. Spurs attempted to sign Lenglet the previous season, but they were unable to come to an agreement with the Blaugrana. Kane values Lenglet’s professionalism.

Marc ter Stegen’s lower back problems have been successfully treated with surgery. At Sports Clinic Bordeux Merignac, Dr. Amélie Léglise carried out the procedure under the direction of the Club’s Medical Services. He is not available at this time until he heals.
