Catalunya Radio said on Thursday afternoon that Laporta and Deco are worried about the situation on the side as it is and Joan Fontes have added to this knowledge, revealing that Deco wishes to assist by “pressuring” and “asking” senior star Ilkay Gundogan, among other things. He hasn’t done as well as expected, without being impoverished, and he hasn’t been the leader Xavi needed.
Fontes continues by stating that Xavi believes Gundogan has been influenced by Robert Lewandowski, a fellow German speaker who appears to be losing faith in the Catalan coach.
According toBar Canaletes‘ story from last month, prominent members of the dressing room did not think Xavi would be managing them this season and were not persuaded. That much adds up, given how often some high-ranking Blaugrana officials have been consistently making simple mistakes.
