Barcelona Midfielder Has Made A Decision Over His Future At The Club

After a summer of spending and signing players, Spanish La Liga side, Barcelona are expected to sanction at least the exit of one high profile player to help balance their books.

The club activated as many as four different economic levers to help them and it was expected that they would sacrifice Dutch midfielder, Frenkie De Jong to further help the club.

The issue came to a head when they were unable to register Jules Kounde after match day 2, but they’ve now resolved it and the French defender made his official debut yesterday against Real Valladolid at the Camp Nou.

As for De Jong, the club have always been clear with him, that they would like to keep him, but he would have to take a pay cut or leave the club as they try to bring down their over bloated wage bill.

The player was linked with a move to England, with Chelsea and Manchester United said to be interested and talks even emerged of a late interest from Liverpool, but the club is set to confirm his stay at Barcelona and has reportedly agreed to reduce his wage bill, as requested by the club.

De Jong is set to sign a restructured contract at Barcelona, a big blow to the interested clubs, but the player has always been clear about his desire to stay with the Blaugrana.

Barcelona forward, Martin Braithwaite is set to join fellow La Liga side, Elche as his future at the Camp Nou has always been clear. The club have already informed him to look for a new club as he’s not in their plans for the new season.

But the player is asking for some sort of compensation before terminating his contract. According to reports, the two parties are close to an agreement and Elche, have moved quickly to secure the services of the player, who would be looking to play regular football once again ahead of the World Cup slated to hold later this year in Qatar.
