Beyond the club’s financial crisis, Barcelona have been accused of ill welfare and abandonment by their summer recruit Ilkay Gundogan after the former Manchester City captain and treble winner was left alone alongside his family to sort out his house hunting, transport and logistics following his free transfer to the Catalan outfit where he has signed a two years deal.

Ilkay Gundogan and his wife Sara Arfaoui were abandoned by Barcelona after the German midfielder reportedly complained that he had little support with housing or transport and his outburst are part of the issues which is also a wider complaints among players of the Spanish outfit.
Beyond that, Barcelona’s summer was in disarray due to their player registration restrictions, meaning that Gundogan was only registered shortly before their season opener against Getafe – despite joining weeks earlier.
The 33-year-old who joined the Catalan giants on a free transfer in the summer after a Treble-winning campaign with Manchester City reportedly complained to the club that he was disappointed with the amount of support he received when he was settling in as he expected to receive more help with things such as housing, transport, and care for his family as per SPORT.
The publication further states that his unease is part of a wider problem at the club, with reserve players apparently having to take on other jobs to fund their travel to training but that hasn’t affected their result on the pitch as they top their Champions League group and look to defend the Laliga title.
The club has accepted their oversight and neglect after they apologized to Ilkay Gundogan and wife Sara Arfaoui who he married in 2022 for making them feel abandoned.
