With the Erling Haaland operation proving to be too costly while Bayern Munich are said to be unwilling to let Robert Lewandowski leave the club yet, the Catalans are forced to search for alternatives and they could move for Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku, who left Inter Milan to join the Blues at the start of the season has had a torrid time so far at the Stamford Bridge as he has gone from being one of the best strikers in the world to earning the tag of “flop of the season” in under a year.
While the Belgian has been linked with a return back to the Nerazzurri, the cost of signing may prove to be too costly for the Italians, who are said to be ready to sell another high profile player to balance their books, hence may not have the financial capability to sign the former Everton and Manchester United striker.
Lukaku is not a typical Barcelona striker but with the list of possible targets dwindling, they could be forced into making a move for him.
It is still unclear where his future lies at the moment as reports has it that he’s already set his heart on leaving the club but Chelsea would want to recoup a better part of the fee that they paid to sign him from any interested club.
Meanwhile…
Barcelona are said to be open to offers for a number of their players, if the price is right as they look to self finance the move for a striker in the summer.
