Not only did Barcelona’s high flying, seven games run halted yesterday against Real Sociedad, the club have been dealt a big blow following the injury to key duo in Lamine Yamala and Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona’s recent impressive form, which had made them appear almost unbeatable was abruptly halted on Sunday with a 1-0 defeat at the Reale Arena. This marked a surprising setback for the team, who had previously enjoyed an eight-game unbeaten streak at the stadium.
Despite the defeat, Barcelona still maintain a comfortable lead at the top of the La Liga table. However, Real Madrid have closed the gap to six points, although they have a game in hand.

Although he wasn’t involved in the game due to injury concerns which was addressed by Hansi Flick in his pre-match pressers, the club have now officially confirmed that the teenage star has suffered an ankle injury.
Lamine Yamal has sustained a Grade 1 syndesmosis injury to his right ankle and he is expected to be sidelined for two to three weeks.

Additionally, Robert Lewandowski is facing a back injury and will be out of action for approximately ten days.
Both players are integral to Hansi Flick’s attacking trio, which also includes Raphinha. This formidable frontline has been the most prolific in Europe’s top leagues.
Yamal, with six goals in 15 appearances, and Lewandowski, the Spanish La Liga’s top scorer with 17 goals across all competitions, will be sorely missed during their respective absences.
