Meanwhile, Barcelona won’t be stopping there as they have other players they need to offload to reduce the overall wage of their squad and be able to register players they have already signed and also bring in more players to strengthen the team now and later in the summer.
First on the list is Yusuf Demir, who is on loan at the club from Rapid Vienna in Austria and Barcelona would be forced to purchase him (€10 million) if he makes another appearance for the club as stipulated in his contract, a situation the Catalans are keen to avoid as they deem the price too steep.
Another player who is bound for the exit is French defender, Samuel Umtiti, who has battled with series of injuries in his stay at the club and given his high salary, the club have decided to sell him.
Dutch striker, Luuk De Jong, who arrived in the last days of the summer transfer window from fellow La Liga side, Sevilla on loan on the express request of erstwhile coach, Ronald Koeman is also earmarked for the exit door as new coach, Xavi Hernandez has informed the club that he wants a striker with a different characteristics.
Second choice goalkeeper Neto and right-back Sergino Dest may also be allowed to leave the club should a reasonable bid arrive for either of them as the club tries to trim the squad and free up some much needed funds.

Spanish journalist Lluis Canut claimed he received access to the salaries of Barca’s biggest stars with Pique named as one of the highest earners at the club alongside Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquet.
Pique replied on Twitter, showing that he actually took a 50% paycut, just as the club had claimed earlier in the season that Pique, Alba and Busquet all took a paycut to help the club save money as they ran the risk of not being allowed to register some players during the summer.
It should be recalled that the Catalans had to let Lionel Messi leave the club as they couldn’t accommodate his salary in their books due to being well over the wage cap set by the La Liga board to help club battle the aftereffects of the coronavirus pandemic.
