During the first half of Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park, the defender hobbled out.

Over the past 18 months, James has sustained many muscular injuries, missing three months of the season already. In a succinct statement on Tuesday afternoon, the club confirmed that scans had revealed a hamstring strain.

‘Captain Reece James has undergone medical assessment following Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Everton,’ a statement read.

‘The defender was withdrawn during the first half at Goodison Park, and scan results have confirmed a hamstring injury.

‘Reece will now begin his rehabilitation programme at Cobham.’

The team anticipates his comeback in March, more likely in February at most. Mauricio Pochettino, whose team has been severely weakened by injuries this season, is dealt a severe blow.

Meanwhile…

Erik ten Hag is anxious to prevent Jadon Sancho from making a “empty gesture,” therefore Manchester United is apparently willing to accept a “significant loss” on him.

Sancho has a disruptive impact on the rest of United’s team, according to manager Ten Hag, who is determined to get rid of the winger.

This season, Sancho and Ten Hag had a nasty falling out, with the Dutchman publicly criticizing his player in the media for his lack of effort in practice. After spending £73 million on him in 2021, United is now willing to suffer a “significant loss” on the player in the January transfer window.
