Gillette Stadium, home of the NFL’s New England Patriots, is also set to serve as a host venue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, a factor that has necessitated the relocation of some Legacy fixtures to nearby Pawtucket.
Speaking on the decision, Boston Legacy president Jennifer van Dijk highlighted the club’s ambition to broaden its regional reach.
“As we expand across two exceptional venues, we see this as an opportunity to connect with even more soccer fans across the region,” van Dijk said in a statement released on Friday.
Despite the short-term arrangement, the club remains committed to its long-term plans in Boston.
Boston Legacy are continuing work on a public-private partnership involving White Stadium, which is undergoing renovations scheduled for completion in 2026, ahead of a full move in the 2027 season.
