Playing in front of a passionate home crowd, Morocco’s early aggression paid off midway through the first half when Brahim Díaz netted his fifth goal of the campaign.

While Cameroon’s defense, led by Nouhou Tolo, initially held firm under heavy pressure, they were eventually overwhelmed by Morocco’s creative attack.

Following Díaz’s opener, the hosts nearly added more before halftime through close-range efforts from Ezzalzouli and El Kaabi.

Despite being lucky to trail by only a single goal at the break, Cameroon controlled the ball early in the second half while hunting for an equalizer.

Morocco, however, continued to look more dangerous in attack, nearly doubling their lead when Abde Ezzalzouli sent a header just over the crossbar.

Cameroon’s frontline of Bryan Mbeumo and Christian Kofane struggled to make an impact, while substitute Georges-Kévin Nkoudou missed a golden opportunity by heading wide from close range.

Morocco’s defensive discipline eventually paid off in the 74th minute. Ezzalzouli turned provider, crossing for Ismael Saibari, who controlled the ball expertly before drilling a clinical left-footed strike into the corner.

This second goal effectively ended Cameroon’s resistance. The victory not only secured Morocco’s place in the semi-finals against Nigeria or Algeria but also extended their impressive unbeaten streak to 22 games.
